Banana Ice Cream!

Summer is here- and when I think of summer, I think of ICE CREAM! I'm the type of person, that I could eat ice cream every day, every season.. and never get sick of it.

Unfortunately, ice cream is packed full of sugar and dairy, sometimes gluten, soy, colorings, and additives etc. depending on your flavor of choice. This is enough to make any person cringe!

Banana ice cream has become my new obsession. It's simple, cheap, healthy, and versatile, and the best part- it's ready in 5 minutes or less!

Ingredients:

  • Bananas

  • Toppings of choice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and freeze bananas. You can do this with as little or as many bananas as you would like. Rule of thumb is 1 banana = 1 serving.

  2. Once bananas are frozen, place in a high speed blender or food processor.

  3. Blend, scrape down sides (repeat) until consistency is smooth and creamy.

  4. Optional: add toppings! the picture here shows raw cacao nibs, and Simply Nature: salted caramel cashew cookies from Aldi- but the options are limitless. Some of our favorites: Peanut Butter (blend with it!) Chocolate (add cacao powder to blender!) Strawberry Banana (you guessed it- add frozen strawberries) etc.

ENJOY!
