BBQ pulled TUNA!

Updated: Apr 30, 2021

Looking for a way to get your kids (or spouse :P) to eat fish??? Look no further!

This recipe was a staple in my childhood home. The first time my mom made it, she did not tell us what the 'secret ingredient' was. I saw BBQ, I ate BBQ. It wasn't until later that I discovered this recipe was actually a trick to get my sister and I to eat more fish. Not only did it work, but it became a family favorite!

"Doesn't it taste...fishy..." you might ask; and the simple answer is NO! See the trick is to rinse your can of tuna out 3-4 times to help lighten the fish scent. The BBQ sauce takes care of the rest!

This recipe is not only crazy easy, (2 INGREDIENTS!!!!) It is also extremely healthy (with the right brands/quality) and incredibly delicious!

Highlighted here are our two favorite brands, "Wild Planet" and "Noble Made." Wild Caught tuna is filled with good healthy fats that feed your brain and energize your body. In addition, this BBQ sauce is loaded with all the flavor and none of the JUNK you would find in your typical BBQ sauce (sugars, preservatives, etc.)

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna

  • Noble Made Classic BBQ (add as much or as little as you want to your liking)

Instructions:

  • Using a can opener, open your can of tuna.

  • Keeping the fish in the tin, rinse 3-4 times.

  • place fish in a pan and break apart meat with a fork. It will look like shredded chicken.

  • Add BBQ and cook over medium heat until the dish is hot and the BBQ is well mixed.

  • Serve with Simple Mills almond flour crackers! (optional)

Enjoy!
